Specific Responsibilities:

  •  Running weekly antenatal clinics.

  • Giving health talks to woman, either individually or in groups, as directed by female medical officer.

  • Assisting FMO with history taking and clinical examination as required.

  • Giving injection, dressing and immunizations to woman and children.

  • Follow up home visits as required of malnourished children, antenatal and postnatal cases and giving health talks and observing home conditions.

  • Home deliveries with FMO and referring those cases presenting complications.

  • Keeping the MNCH centre’s birth and death registers.

  • Keeping weekly reports of patients seen (general, antenatal, malnourished children) and submitting them to the office at the specified times.

  • Preparation o f the monthly activity report and submitting to the FMO.

  • Responsible to the FMO for day-to-day clinic and medical activities and work assignments, including community health Day.

  • Responsible to FMO for maintenance of malnutrition, antenatal and postnatal clinic records, cards, monthly reports, etc.

  • Take part in regular meetings of health management committee and discuss the issues related to MNCH centre and its progress.


 Job specifications:                     

 Qualification/Experience:

  • For the post of Lady Health Visitor a Nursing/Lady Health Visitors/Health Tech diploma from a recognized institution and two years experience is considered necessary.


Skills/Competencies: 

  • The Lady Health Visitor should have team membership qualities, good interpersonal and communication skills. She should be flexible, committed and dedicated.

  • Urdu and Sindhi are essential.



  • The Lady Health Visitor must be tolerant and sensitive to needs of religious and ethnic minorities, women and the poor.

  • In the absence of the supervisors, Lady Health Visitor must have the confidence, initiative, patience and integrity to work independently.

  • The Lady Health Visitor is required to follow Organization Accountability Framework and its commitment to the Codes of Conduct practiced by the organization. The Lady Health Visitor will ensure  her commitment to the organization mission and values and for working in accordance to  her job expectations
